a very superior labourer to the Indian Coolie - but he is not so easily induced to emigrate. In China therefore larger Establishments

In making this representation I have

confined myself to a comparison of the China Emigration accounts

a rate of about 6d per head is that which has evidently, been found by the Government of British Guiana to be the fairest. remuneration to the Anditor at Calcutta. - and the Anditor at Hongthong

be entitled to a rate per head exceeding that,

in a relative

relative proportion

to the superior cost

of the Chinese Emigrant

over the Indian.
